Tramando Artist Spotlight

Module one for Tramando is well underway, and we are thrilled to share that we’ve selected our cohorts, now entering week three of this transformative workshop series! The journey began with an introduction to fiber spinning, led by the incredible Beatriz, who has been guiding participants in turning raw cotton fibers into yarn. Thanks to Trama Antillana, we’ve been fortunate to work with cotton grown on their farm in Puerto Rico, adding a special connection to our materials. Beatriz’s approach emphasizes practicality and resilience, reminding everyone that “we’re not making perfect yarn, we’re making yarn that doesn’t break.” This ethos has inspired the cohorts to embrace the imperfections and challenges of the craft, focusing on creating something strong and lasting.
